NewsPrince set to play department store gigPrince has announced a performance at Macy's in Minneapolis, set to take place on July 7. The diminutive pop star will play a show on the store's eighth floor for 1,400 people who each will pay $250 for the privilege. The performance is part of the 'Ultimate Prince Xperience' which will take place on the day he launches his debut fragrance, '3121' . Fans who purchase the package will receive a ticket to the show, another ticket to his gig at the Target Centre later that day, a special bottle of his fragrance before it's official release, and a limited Prince T-shirt. Klaxons sell out legendary LA theatre Klaxons performed for a sold-out crowd at the Los Angeles El Rey Theatre last night (July 10). The all-ages audience greeted the London lads with rapturous cheers and glow sticks when they took the stage at the hotly tipped gig. Dressed all in black, the quartet ran through several popular tracks from their debut album, 'Myths Of The Near Future'. "We're happy to be back here in LA for the third time," frontman Jamie Reynolds told the crowd. "We've only been here about 24 hours but you've made us feel most welcome." Highlights of the evening included the dramatic 'Two Receivers' and crowd-pleaser 'Golden Skans'. The band wrapped things up after only 45 minutes without an encore, looking a bit worse for the wear after travelling from Scotland where they played a rousing set at T In The Park at the weekend. Speaking to NME.COM after the show, keyboardist James Righton admitted, "I'm not sure this was the right room for us. But everyone seemed happy, and the older crowd got into it." |
